This is a Cypress Pergola that is small part of the "big picture" in a backyard outdoor kitchen/entertainment area plan that we were involved in.  The big plan consists of large boulders flown in with a crane, a swimming pool and a large jacuzzi, a complete outdoor kitchen, major hardscaping and our pergola.  Pergola is cut from Cypress timber and held together with mortise and tenon joinery.  We implemented custom made steel, powder coated boots for the posts, 2 half round plates to secure the rafters, and steel clips to clamp the rafter ends.  We drilled the frame for chases wiring for the lights and overhead fan.  The clients were very upbeat about the project and a pleasure to work with!
