A while ago, I was given the opportunity to harvest a wind downed cherry tree. We were able to cut it from it's stump and get it onto our trailer with the help of chains and a skid loader for transport to the local sawyer. The tree weighed upwards of 6000 lbs when we originally took it. It has lost a few pounds since it has been drying over the last few years. We had it sawn into 2 1/2" live edge slabs. It has been drying in my shop for the past 2+ years. We are just getting to the point where it can be made into tables. Hopefully in the next few months we will have some beautiful hand made tables for sale. We are currently looking into having legs hand forged for these beasts by a local blacksmith. We'll keep you posted.
